Yasemin Köker is an independent curator and art critic. She holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in art history and history from the Université Lyon Lumière II (FR). Between 2021 and 2022, she served as an artist liaison at Galeri Nev İstanbul (Istanbul, TR) before working at Zilberman Gallery (Istanbul, TR) as program manager, where she also contributed to the gallery’s publications as an editor.
Recently, she has curated several exhibitions, including Now on Display (Zilberman Selected, Istanbul, 2024), Touching you I catch midnight (Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris, 2025), and Eye Becomes Water (Het Paviljoen, Ghent, 2025). Her research and collaborations in visual and contemporary art are informed by critical theories, feminist and queer perspectives, and a particular focus on collective practices. Her curatorial work is rooted in an approach where research becomes a tool to explore how art can open perspectives on contemporary social and political issues. Member of AICA Turkey, she regularly writes for independent art publications.
She is a participant of the Curatorial Studies 2024-2025 program at KASK & Conservatorium / School of Arts Ghent (BE). She is a part of the team at La Loge (Brussels, BE) as a curatorial and communication intern, under the supervision of Antoinette Jattiot. She divides her time between Brussels and Lyon.
