Dayneris Brito (Havana, 1996) lives and works in Paris.
She is an independent curator, artistic director of the Brownstone Foundation (26 rue Saint-Gilles, 75003, Paris), director of artistic projects at LAC – Collection Jean-Michel Attal, and advisor for its Cuban Art Collection. Her curatorial practice envisions curation as an expanded language, shaped by processes of production, translation, and the assemblage of knowledge and artistic gestures. She is particularly interested in the voices of Latin American artists living in the diaspora, especially in Paris, where she currently resides.
She holds a degree in Art History from the Faculty of Letters at the University of Havana and has completed a Master’s in Curatorial Studies and Contemporary Culture at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Venice (Italy) and a Master’s in Curatorial Studies at the Museum of the University of Navarra in Pamplona (Spain).
In Cuba, she worked as a cultural journalist for platforms such as Cubaism and Cubaness. She was a founding member of the art and literature magazine El Oficio and project coordinator for the Estudio Taller Chullima of Cuban artist Wilfredo Prieto. She contributed to the production of more than a dozen exhibitions and cultural projects, collaborating with institutions such as the National Council of Plastic Arts of Cuba, the Higher Institute of Arts (ISA), Galleria Continua Havana, and the National Museum of Fine Arts (MNBA).
In Europe, she has worked with prestigious institutions, including the 57th Venice Biennale (2019), Fondazione Morra Greco (Naples, Italy), the Museum of the University of Navarra, the Department of Art and Politics at the University of Murcia, the Department of Fine Arts at the University of Elche, Galleria Continua, Galerie Chantal Crousel, Ateliers Jean Nouvel, Cité Internationale des Arts, POUSH, among others.
Her curatorial projects include *Silent Specific* (2020), co-curated with the artist and Cuban National Prize for Plastic Arts recipient René Francisco Rodríguez; *Coro de Cristales* (2022), presented at the ArcoMadrid 2022 fair; *Intermedia. Writing the Image, Creating the Word*, at the Museum of the University of Navarra, in collaboration with the Patricia Phelps de Cisneros Collection; *Point the Fusion* at POUSH (Paris); *Le vol du quetzal* at le6b (Paris); and *Primer Aviso* at JULIO Artist Run Space (Paris).
