Fanny LAMBERT

Biography

Vit à : Paris et Marseille

Holding a museological diploma from L’Ecole du Louvre and a diploma of contemporary art and photography from La Sorbonne Paris I, Fanny Lambert produced two studies (the first one about the body through the works of Man Ray and Hans Bellmer, the second about the specificities of exposure of the actions of Michel Journiac) and made body art become her specialty.  First through the museum fields, particularly La Fondation Van Gogh, Le Musée Delacroix and Le Centre Georges Pompidou, then through galleries, she heads to specialized press and regularly cooperates with the journals “de l’air”, “L’Oeil de la photographie” or “Beaux Arts Magazine”, covering, among others, festivals such as Les Rencontres d’Arles and Le Festival de l’Image d’Amman (Jordan). For the press, she realizes interviews and portraits of figures on the contemporary scene and of its institutions. Developing in parallel an activity of curator, she finds her stomping ground in criticism (particularly through her blog Etant donné…) and in comparison of contemporary art and image, with focus on studying the cross between these two fields, switching between them with a taste for art getting realized, in all its forms. Since 2015, she provides advisory and editorial activities to the new leadership of Rencontres de la Photographie d’Arles. The following year, she is in charge of the development of the center “Contemporary Art” within Galerie Gradiva, which she inaugurates in may 2016 with an exhibition devoted to the recent artworks of Mathieu Bonardet. She is also co-founder of an online publishing project named “Amorces”, approximately halfway between journal and online exhibition. Furthermore, she continuously writes for galleries or, more directly, for artists. She intervenes in art schools as a juror. She is currently leading studies for a thesis and teachs History of Art at the Université Paris VIII in Saint-Denis, and she is predisposed in theoretical instruction in Fine Art schools.
