Noemi BORGES MARTINS
Chercheuse et commissaire d'exposition indépendante

Biography

Île-de-France

Curator and researcher, Noemi Borges Martins develops a situated curatorial practice attentive to questions of memory, diasporic archives and decolonial approaches to contemporary art. She is currently pursuing a PhD focusing on the decolonisation of French cultural institutions and on curatorial practices as spaces for the production of situated narratives. Her practice takes the form of exhibitions, research residencies and public programmes, developed in close collaboration with artists working across visual and sound art and poetry. Her research explores forms of transmission, diasporic narratives and the uses of memory, as well as the relationships between artistic practices, territories and non-human environments. Alongside her curatorial practice, she develops a sound practice through radio residencies, readings, writing workshops and listening-based projects.
