Marianna DE MARZI

Biography

Vit à : Paris , entre France et Italie

Independent curator Marianna De Marzi lives and works between Italy and France. Her curatorial research focuses on the space of encounter — a site of convergence where collective practices emerge, challenging individual, social, and environmental boundaries. She is a member of P.I.A. (Persistance is All), a participatory school of contemporary art and criticism for artists and curators based in southern Italy. Within P.I.A., she launched in 2024 Flatland – contemporary paper mâché, a co-creation program bringing together international artists and local artisans. The project culminated in 2025 with the publication of Amalgama, the first polyphonic volume of essays on contemporary arts & crafts, supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture. Alongside this, she conducts independent research on the contemporary Caribbean art scene, realized in Martinique during the first edition of the curatorial project Meeting Points, co-curated with researcher Cassandre Langlois. The project fosters artistic exchanges both between Caribbean islands and between the Caribbean and Europe. In 2025, she was invited as curator for the exhibition éternelles errances by the association CulturFoundry, and in 2024 she curated Pierre qui roule n’amasse pas mousse at DOC!, presenting the work of Ekaterina Costa, Léa Dumayet, and Morgane Porcheron.
