Louis VERRET
Commissaire d'exposition

Biography

Vit à : Paris , France

Louis Verret, born in 1988 in Paris, is a visual artist, poet, and curator. He lives in Paris and works in Aubervilliers.

He graduated from Central Saint Martins in London in 2012.

He initiated the first edition of Feÿ-Rencontres d’arts (2018), notably curating the Art and Music program. In 2021, he founded the Fonds de dotation Weiss, an artist residency in Paris, where he oversees residency projects and curates the exhibitions concluding each residency.

As a visual artist, his practice spans from painting and watercolor on paper to installation, including poetic writing and video. His dialectical approach explores the folds of culture and the semiological baggage we carry.
His most recent project, Les fruits de la passion (2021–ongoing), combines watercolor painting, writing, and installation, and focuses on the experience of football as spectacle, examining its history and its ghosts.
Another project, Aussi (2020–2022), paired watercolor painting with writing, developing a dialogue between the book-object and the memories it holds.

His work has been exhibited in France and Armenia — notably at Galerie Les Filles du Calvaire, Karl Marx Studio, pal project, the Paul Eluard Museum in Saint-Denis, the Pavillon Vendôme in Clichy, and NPAK in Yerevan.
