Vit à : Paris , France
I’m Julia Palmeirao, though in my home country of Lithuania I am best known by my maiden name, Julija Dailidėnaitė. I am an independent art critic, curator, advisor, event organiser, as well as a member of the International Association of Art Critics AICA and French Organisation of Curators C-E-A. . Since 2006, I have been deeply involved in the Baltic cultural scene, gaining extensive experience in art galleries, museums, archives, and event organisation. My professional path reflects a sustained commitment to supporting and promoting contemporary art across the region and beyond. . I hold both a BA and MA in Art History, Theory, and Criticism from the Vilnius Academy of Fine Arts. Over the years, I have worked with institutions such as the Lithuanian Artists’ Union, the Vilnius Academy of Arts, and the MO Museum. . In 2009, I founded the non-profit organisation Contemporary Art Projects, which operated until 2025. The organisation was dedicated to organising art events and exhibitions, participating in international art fairs, and promoting artists from the Nordic and Baltic regions. . I am also the co-founder and main organiser of the Young Painter Prize, an initiative dedicated to supporting and celebrating emerging artists. I coordinated and curated this project from its creation in 2009 through its 15th edition in 2023. In 2018, I was awarded the Lithuanian Association of Artists’ Prize, together with my colleague, for the creation and organisation of the Young Painter Prize. That same year, I was nominated for the National Prize for Culture and Art in recognition of my work promoting young Baltic artists. . Since 2021, I have been based in Paris, where I collaborate with various galleries, curate exhibitions, write articles for art magazines, and regularly contribute to my blog.
