Independent curator and exhibition coordinator, Camille Gajate learned photography conservation and the appreciation of their artistic value in the Guimet Museum Photography Archives and the Old Photographs Archives in Nagasaki. INALCO graduate with a desire to share the collections, she gained her master’s title of Cultural Manager and Curator in Paris. In doing so, She’s worked for Kyotographie, Paris Photo, Photo Doc., in 2018, joined the MRO Foundation in Arles and consequently, in 2020, went on to join Emmanuelle de l’Ecotais for the creation of Photo Days as General coordinator.
In 2019, Camille Gajate founded the international residency and annual open-air festival BZH PHOTO, inviting to Brittany a photographer of a different country every year.
Based between Brittany and Paris.
Each year, BZH PHOTO invites an artist from a different country to take up residency, and spend a month discovering the Breton coastline. The following summer, the photographs resulting from the residency are exhibited on the port of Loguivy-de-la-Mer, at the mercy of the wind and tides!
