Call for applications – Residency program, Van Eyck Academie, Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Deadline : 01/10/2018

The Van Eyck is a multidisciplinary post-academic institute for artistic talent development located in Maastricht, the Netherlands that furthers experiment, research, production, collaboration and exchange. Artists, designers, curators, (landscape) architects, and writers come from all over the world to work on their own projects during a residency that lasts 6 up to 12 months. As of this year, with the installation of the new director Hicham Khalidi, they would also like to encourage fashion designers to apply for a work period at the Van Eyck in order to deepen and broaden the scope of their work.

At the Van Eyck you have a studio of your own. The academy works with experienced advisors and boasts quality labs (wood, metal, printing, photography/new media, a Lab for nature research and a library). Additionally, the Van Eyck organizes master classes and courses and a public programme consisting of exhibitions, presentations and lectures.
The multiform character of the Van Eyck appeals to the artistic and intellectual versatility of the participants and enables them to deepen and ramify their talents and skills in the short and long run. The work of the participants is the effect and the result of various interlinked processes. It especially testifies to an art practice that is investigative and committed. The Van Eyck offers places to 35-40 participants on an annual basis.

Duration : 6 to 12 months
