Anna MILONE

Biography

Vit à : Paris , France

Anna Milone develops her curatorial practice with independent and institutional projects, often tackling social and political issues, bringing together artists exploring various mediums and from different generations. Milone was born in France and began her curatorial career working at Fondation Cartier in Paris. She then collaborated in Paris with Marc-Olivier Wahler on FLAX’s Lost (in LA) exhibition at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery. After producing Nuit Blanche 2013, Milone joined the team of Monnaie de Paris as curator of public programs and education for notable exhibitions, including Chocolate Factory by Paul McCarthy and Musée d’Art Moderne – Département des Aigles by Marcel Broodthaers.

In 2015, working as an independent curator, Milone created recto/verso a unique partnership between the charity organization Secours populaire français and Fondation Louis Vuitton, featuring more than 200 artists. The exhibition was followed by the first “blind” auction in France. The second edition took place in June 2018.

As FLAX Program Director and Curator, Milone directed her attention toward creating compelling collaborations with Southern California- and French-based artists, curators, and cultural institutions designed to bolster Los Angeles’s contemporary art scene and create a unique interactive experience for a wide and diverse audience. Increasing the reciprocity of the projects, Milone developed opportunities for SoCal-based artists to collaborate with their counterparts and partner institutions in France.
