The Campos de Gutíerrez Residency Program invites artists, designers, curators and art historians from around the world to develop projects on a historic homestead on the outskirts of Medellin, Colombia. The program was established in 2011 and is designed to facilitate processes of investigation, production, and exchange among residents and the local community.
Residency sessions are quarterly and last between six to eight weeks. During this time, residents produce works to be exhibited in one of the Medellin’s many galleries and cultural centers. Critiques are an integral part of the residency experience and inform the direction of each exhibition. Each residency session receives between three and six artists.
The residency program plays an important role in the contemporary art community in Medellin and has gained national recognition for its contributions to the development of collaborative international art practices in the city and beyond.
