Call for applications – Moscow City Galleries Network: Open-call for Artists and Curators, Russia

A new project of the Moscow City Galleries Network.
The city offers new opportunities for artists from Russia and the rest of the world.
Here, out of the 18 galleries that make up the Network, two of them – Varshavka and Skolkovo – have become pioneers of the large Moscow Artist-in-residence Program, which the Moscow City Galleries Network officially launched in summer 2015.
Varshavka and Skolkovo workshop galleries are located in the south and the west of Moscow, respectively.
Skolkovo is an interdisciplinary workshop for Russian and international artists, whose interests, inter alia, may be focused on cooperation and collaboration with local residents. This may be site-specific art, public art, street art, science public art – the development of this trend is explained by the closeness of and partnership with the Skolkovo Innovation Center and connections with the science and art centers in new areas of Moscow.
Skolkovo Workshop Gallery includes two symmetrical and equally large spaces, one of which is equipped for organizing exhibitions and educational and recreational activities, the other one – for work and accommodation of artists in residence.
− artists and designers, architects and composers, scientists and curators, directors and writers;
− everyone who plans to participate in exhibitions and festivals, forums and science art projects;
− those interested in peace and quiet or continuous communication, concentrated on working on their projects or ready to work in the urban space.
The duration of stay in residence may vary between:
1 week – for preliminary research or in preparation for exhibitions, festivals or other events in the city;
1 month – short-term artist-in-residence program
3-6 months – standard artist-in-residence program
