International Curatorial Studio at Humboldt University Berlin
Organizer: Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (Postgraduate Programme in Curating) and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Helmholtz-Zentrum für Kulturtechnik).
Director: Dr. Dorothee Richter (ZHdK), Dr. Sven Sappelt (HU)
The participants will discuss and develop curatorial projects, get a lot of inspiring input and will get to know the Berlin art scene through visits and talks.
The International Curatorial Studio programme is a platform envisioned to address questions of social, political and cultural relevance. We will discuss with the participants how an impact through new forms of meaning production as curatorial means could be achieved. Topics covered include changing ideas about art theories and current institutional practices, the status of the curator as an author, or team player, or critical instigator and educator. We will discuss the different perceptions about the socio-political role of the curator, the identity of the curatorial practice as an academic discipline open to renovation.
Deadline: September 4, 2015
