The Curatorial Intensive, a weeklong professional development program, is designed to immerse participants in a rigorous schedule of seminars, presentations, site visits, and one-on-one meetings that support the process of developing an idea for a project into a full proposal. It is a unique opportunity to forge a close network of peers and embark on future collaborations. This program is targeted toward self-motivated individuals, working independently or within institutions.
Independent Curators International (ICI), in collaboration with Fundación Alumnos47, presents the second Curatorial Intensive in Mexico City. This program will be ICI’s fifth Curatorial Intensive conducted entirely in Spanish in Latin America, continuing our commitment to embrace the diversity of the art world by providing curatorial training to Spanish-speaking professionals and by offering a platform where curators can meet, share, and fully engage with the local context. Mexico City, with its crucial role in the contemporary art scene on the continent and beyond, provides a rich cultural landscape for this program.
The Curatorial Intensive in Mexico City will offer curators the occasion to meet colleagues from around the world, build upon their professional experiences with peers and faculty, and gain insight into the vibrant cultural landscape of Mexico City. Applicants must be fluent in Spanish, as seminars and discussions will take place in Spanish only.
