Independent Curators International, in collaboration with the Gerencia de Artes Plásticas y Visuales of the Instituto Distrital de las Artes, presents the second Curatorial Intensive in Bogotá, Colombia.
This program marks the fifth iteration of ICI’s Curatorial Intensive in Latin America, following past Intensives in Minas Gerais, Brazil with Inhotim (2012); Buenos Aires, Argentina with MACBA (2013); Bogotá, Colombia with the Gerencia de Artes Plásticas y Visuales of the Instituto Distrital de las Artes (2013); and Mexico City, Mexico with Fundación Jumex Arte Contemporáneo (2014). It will be the fourth program conducted entirely in Spanish, offering Spanish-speaking curators the opportunity to meet colleagues from around the world, share ideas on how to push the parameters of their practice, and build a network for future collaborations. Applicants should be fluent in Spanish, as seminars and discussions will take place primarily in Spanish. See below for information on the program in Spanish.
The Curatorial Intensive is designed to immerse participants in a rigorous schedule of seminars, conversations, and presentations that support the process of developing an idea for an exhibition or program into a full proposal. The program is targeted toward self-motivated individuals—working independently or in institutions—who would benefit from a week of intensive conversations around the issues and questions that regularly arise for curators.
