Deadline: March 19, 2017
‘’ BeMA’’ (the Beirut Museum of Art) spearheaded by APEAL (Association for the Promotion and Exhibition of the Arts in Lebanon), in collaboration with Temporary. Art. Platform (T.A.P) is launching an open call for its second Artists-in-Residence program as part of the museum’s outreach mission. This project falls under both associations’ interests in supporting contemporary art practices while engaging local communities across Lebanon through contextual art projects.
This year’s residency will take place in Jezzine (Jezzine District, Southern Governorate of Lebanon) between May 1 and May 31, 2017 and will revolve around the theme of water.
Water is one of the most (ab)used elements in today’s world. The residency program will focus on the different perceptions of water and their implications. How can we think our relation to water as a fundamental resource for our survival and a basic human right?
The residency is open to cultural practitioners and artists from all countries and all ages whose practices share the concerns of the residency, provided they are able to communicate in Arabic.
